Excursion

The Local Organising Committee is organising during the conference a bus excursion to Alba Iulia and Rimetea (totally 210 km by bus).

Alba Iulia was the capital of the Principality of Transylvania. The stellar-shaped Alba Carolina Citadel has seven bastions and it is the largest in the country. Here is the main landmark of the city, the Romanesque Romano Catholic Cathedral. Close to it lays the Batthyaneum Library, which has the most valuable collection in Romania.

Rimetea/Torockó was a mine town. Now it is among the most beautiful villages in Transylvania due to the breathtaking landscape and its best-consereved architecture.

The cost of the excursion, including the visit to the library and a traditional lunch/dinner in an old house at the main square of Rimetea is 30 EUR/person and can be paid via the registration system. For your participation in the excursion, please fill in the form.

More information about the excursion will be given soon.
