A Digital look at Righas Charta, 1796-97 The cartographic masterpiece of Greek Enlightenment, from a digital point of view. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary from the birth of Righas Velestinlis (1757) –a major representative of Greek Enlightenment and the designer of the first in Greek language map of ‘modern’ Greece– it is attempted for the first time a mainly digital look at his monumental 12-sheet map, the famous Charta, published in Vienna (1796-97), depicting the Balkan Peninsula from Danube to Crete in 2X2 metres format.
