This joint workshop aims at the discussion of main issues related to the introduction of modern digital information and communication technologies (ICT) in the analogue-to-digital transformation of manuscript or printed cartographic documents, in the digital analysis of their geometric and thematic (semantic) content, in digital archiving and cataloguing, as well as in topics relevant to the digital access to rare maps and to the networking of map collections (e.g. on the web) and to affined cartographic material.

Target group

The workshop is addressed to researchers and students working in historical cartography (from history, sciences and technologies, informatics and infographics), to map curators and map librarians, to map collectors, to digital ICT operators, to scientists from other fields who use historical maps in their work and to map enthusiasts from the general public.
