CartoGeoLab develops research partnerships with scientists, experts and institutions working in common fields of interest. In this partnership context operational contacts have been established with: the Technical University of Vienna Cartography (Prof. Georg Gartner); the University IUAV of Venice Cartography & GIS - Photogrammetry (Prof. Francesco Guerra, Prof. Caterina Balletti); the University of Bologna Geomatics (Prof. Gabriele Bitelli); the Map Library of Catalunia (Dr Carme Montaner) at the Cartographic and Geologic Institute of Catalonia in Barcelona; the Charles University in Prague, Map Collection, Faculty of Sciences (Dr Eva Novotná); the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics (Prof. László Zentai, Dr Mátyás Gede) of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest; the Cartographic Heritage Archives (Dr Maria Pazarli, Dipl.-Eng. Nopi Ploutoglou, Dtp Elpida Daniil) of the General State Archives in Thessaloniki; the Department of History (Prof. Dimitrios Anoyatis-Pelé), Ionian University in Corfu; the Department of Educational and Social Policy (Prof. Konstantinos Papadopoulos), University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki; the Library & Information Centre (Katerina Nasta, Angeliki Chatzigeorgiou) and the Laboratory of Epigraphy & Papyrology (Prof. Ioannis Tzifopoulos) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The CartoGeoLab is supporting the Hellenic Cartographic Society; two of its members serve in the HCS Board: Prof. Chrysoula Boutoura, HCS President and Prof. Alexandra Kousoulakou, HCS Secretary.

CartoGeoLab is a legal academic entity of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Engineering, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, Department of Cadastre, Photogrammetry and Cartography, established in March 2016 (Official Gazette No. B 636, 9.3.2016) after the University Senate decision in December 2015 following the proposal made by the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering (SRSE)
