Education

CartoGeoLab supports courses of the School's undergraduate curriculum, i.e.: Science and technology of Rural and Surveying Engineer; Thematic cartography; Geography and spatial analysis;Urban analysis and planning; Regional analysis and planning; Map use; Methods of geographic analysis; Map design and production; Regional geography; Non conventional cartography; Cartographical visualization; History of cartography and of postgraduate curriculum, i.e.: Statistical methods in spatial analysis; Issues of cartographic infrastructure, organization and production; Issues of geographical organization and analysis of the Greek geospace; Seminar circles I and II with laboratory applications.

CartoGeoLab is also contributing in the education and research process by offering and supervising diploma and postgraduate theses and doctorate dissertations.

Education on subjects listed above is offered also to Erasmus+ foreign studends attending the courses.

Members of the AUTH CartoGeoLab are the co-organisers and associates of the innovative, intensive post-graduate specialisation course, in english Reviving thematic cartography into digital to be held in the University IUAV of Venice, November 2017. CartoGeoLab is a legal academic entity of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Engineering, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, Department of Cadastre, Photogrammetry and Cartography, established in March 2016 (Official Gazette No. B 636, 9.3.2016) after the University Senate decision in December 2015 following the proposal made by the School of Rural & Surveying Engineering (SRSE)
