Members of the CartoGeoLab are working since the 1980s in the field of historical cartography introducing in 2006 the new issue of Cartographic Heritage in the international cartographic community, elaborating and advancing since 2014 the innovative concept of the Cartoheritage ecosystem.

In the frame of Cartoheritage the CartoGeoLab is steering:

• the ICA Commission on Cartographic Heritage into the Digital
• the relevant international web journal "e-Perimetron"
• the annual ICA Conferences on Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage and the ad hoc Workshops and Tutorials

and contributing in supporting the partnership of the ICA Commission with the international MAGIC Group of Map & Geoinformation Curators
