  • 200 YEARS MAP OF LAPIE 1822-2022. Exhibition on the important French map by Pierre Lapie organized by the AUTh Laboratory of Cartography & Geographical Analysis (CartoGeoLab) and the AUTh Library & Information Center, with the kindly important cooperation and assistance of the Sylvia Ioannou Foundation and the kind support of the Consulate General of France and the French Institute of Thessaloniki.   • The CartoGeoLab is the leader of the competitive research project "Digital Libraries Map System" (DiLiMAPS) aiming at the promotion and use of digital map libraries and the map mining in books housed in the Libraries.
    DiLiMAPS is a result of the cooperation of the CartoGeoLab with the AUTH Library & Information Centre started in 2016. The project is supported by the Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation.
  • The CartoGeoLab contributed in the preparation of four books published by the AUTH Library & Information Centre, authored by Prof. Emer. Evangelos Livieratos, on the occasion of four major map exhibitions (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) dedicated to: Rigas Velestinlis 'Charta' (1798); the mapping of the Archipelago/Cyclades by Louis XIV engineers (1685-1687); a collection of maps of Santorini from the Flotilla Fresco (1500 BCE) to the Interwar period; the 130 years of the Hellenic Military Geographical Service (1889-2019).   • The CartoGeoLab co-organised and supported the organisation of the 15th ICA Conference Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage of the International Cartographic Association Commission on Cartographic Heritage into the Digital to be held online (due to Covid-19) from Budapest, 6-7 May 2021. More

  • The CartoGeoLab co-organised and supported the Exhibition for the 130 years anniversary of the Hellenic Mililitary Geographical Service (1889-2019).

  • The CartoGeoLab supported the organisation of the 14th ICA Conference Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage of the International Cartographic Association Commission on Cartographic Heritage into the Digital to be held in Thessaloniki, 8-10 May 2019, at the Aristotle University Central Library and at the Museum of Byzantine Culture. More

  • The CartoGeoLab supported the organisation of the 15th Hellenic Cartographic Conference Cartography of Crises of the Hellenic Cartographic Society held in Thessaloniki, 31 October - 2 November 2018, at the Museum of Byzantine Culture.

  • The CartoGeoLab was the designer and producer of the innovative AUTH cartographic research exhibition In semilunar similarity with historical maps and relevant cartographic heritage representations of the island of Thera/Santorini, Cyclades, Aegean Sea from 1500 BCE to the between the two World Wars 20th century, in cooperation with the AUTH Library & Information Centre and the L. & E. Bellonias Foundation at Thera. Bellonio Cultural Centre, Santorini, 29 September-31 October 2018

  • Exhibition of unknown manuscript large dimension maps of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Archipelago made by Louis XIV engineers Raseau/Razaut and Pétré in 1685-1687. The maps collected in two Recueils belong to the Tricoglou Library of the Central Library of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Recueil Raseau) and to the Service historique de la Défense - Vincennes (Recueil Pétré). The exhibition Archipelago 1685-1687 in the maps of Louis XIV is organised by the Library & Information Centre of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) for its 90th anniversary in cooperation with by the Service historique de la Défense - Vincennes supported by the AUTH Research Committee, the AUTH CartoGeoLab and the Consulate General of France in Thessaloniki at the AUTH Teloglion Foundation of Fine Arts, Thessaloniki 14.2.2018-2.4.2018

  • Exhibition of 6 original copies of Rigas' monumental map, the Charta (15 Dec. 2017-14 Jan. 2018 -Extended to 12 February 2018) with title Rigas' Charta: the two (plus) faces. Another reading of the map for the 220 years since its printing in Vienna (1797) and the presentation of a relevant book authored by E. Livieratos published by the AUTH Library on the occasion of its 90 years | more

  • Dr Rostislav Nétek, University of Olomouc, Czechia, visited the AUTH CartoGeoLab in the frame of the Erasmus+ exchange programme for academic staff from November 6 to 11, 2017, dealing with web mapping and cartographic heritage. He lectured freshmen and senior students of the courses "Mapping sciences and technologies heritage", "Map use" and "Non conventional cartography".   • Dr Andreas Fuls, Technical University Berlin, Germany, visited the AUTH CartoGeoLab in the frame of the Erasmus+ exchange programme for academic staff from October 8 to 14, 2017. He discussed issues of Ptolemy "Geography" with CartoGeoLab staff members and offered lectures to senior students of the courses "Map use" and "Non conventional cartography"

  • Prof. Lichun Sui, geomatics, from Chang'an University in Xi'an, China, visited the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the frame of the bilateral international cooperation agreement signed recently between the AUTH and Chang'an University after the initiative of the Laboratory

  • The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki approved the proposal presented by the AUTH CartoGeoLab for signing an Erasmus+ International agreement with Chang'an University, Xi'an, China, as a part of the Agreement for Academic Cooperation between AUTH and Chang'an University (Art.II, 3), signed in March-April 2017
