The Mount Athos Map Library
(MAML) was created In March 2001 as an initiative of the Mount
Athos Photographic Archive in cooperation with the
National Centre for Maps and Cartographic Heritage - National Map Library.
This cooperation lasted until September 2006. From November 2006 MAML
is hosted in
Cartography in Cultural Heritage
website cooperating with the AUTH
Cartography Group (Contact:
Prof. E. Livieratos).
This cooperation concerns:

Issues related to the
cartographic representation, mapping and relevant documentations of the
Aghion Oros (Holy Mountain).

The organization of
specialized map exhibitions for the wide public and the preparation of
associated publications.

The application of
new information and communication technologies to the map collection of
Mount Athos Map Library and the introduction of this collection into
the NML digital cartographic archive.
-
The design and
implementation of related educational projects / programmes.
-
The international
cooperation.
