For the guided tours in the exhibitions of the National Library of Spain, the Naval Museum and the Cartographic Archive of the Spanish Army Geographic Centre:
A bus will pick the participants up from IGN and it will leave them at the visitors centre for the guided tour. After the end of the tour, the bus will bring the participants back to IGN. Further details will be provided.
The participants have the opportunity to visit one of these institutions per day, free of charge. Since the number of participants in each tour is limited to 15 people, there will be a priority list for each tour. Once the maximum number of participants is reached for any of the tours, the relevant option will be deactivated from the participation form.
The name and Identification number (passport) of each participant are required for the guided tours.
For the guided tour in IGN:
For those participants who cannot go to the guided tours of National Library of Spain, Naval Museum and Cartographic Archive of the Spanish Army Geographic Centre, a guided tour to the exhibition of the IGN is offered. The exhibition will be open during the conference from 10:30 to 14.00 and the guided tours are provided on April 18th and April 19th, 16:00-18:00. The maximum number of participants in each tour is 20.
Exhibition in IGN
During the conference, the participants will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition in IGN "Oikoumene: the evolution of the Image of the World". It will be open from 10:30 to 14:00.
Exhibition in National Library of Spain
The National Library of Spain / Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE) is offering a special visit to the very successful map exhibition Cartographies of the unknown / Cartografías de lo desconocido from the maps of the BNE. This exhibition is surpassing the number of visitors of all the exhibitions that have been in the BNE, making happy the organisers in the Library!
