Since 2006, the Commission developed the tradition of the annual ICA Conferences under the general title Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage. The venue of these conferences (called till 2014 workshops) was decided upon the kind invitation by a hosting institution which offered the conference room and catering.
The members of the Commission Desk have the responsibility to organise the conference in all respects in cooperation with the hosting institution. No fees were asked from the participants with the exception of the 5th (Vienna) and the last two conferences, the 9th and 10th (Budapest and Corfu).
Selected papers from the Commission conferences are published in the parter international web journal e-perimetron on sciences and technologies affined to history of cartography and maps.
